Abstract
The chapter is structured in two main sections. Section I describes the “Psychophisiological correlates of behavior”, while Section II describes “Genetics, hormones and behavior”. In particular, the first section discusses the techniques related to the central nervous system (i.e. EEG and MEG), as well as those related to the peripheral nervous system (i.e. ECG, EKG, Electrooculography, and Eye and Electrodermal activity tracking). On the other hand, the second section discusses behavioral genetics and psychoneuroendocrinology. For each technique we provide a brief description, followed by a discussion of its advantages and disadvantages, and we conclude each section providing examples of previous studies and potential research questions that can be answered by using the focal technique.
