Abstract

Serbo-Croatian Abstract: U članku se razmatraju razlozi zašto inozemni lingvisti imaju drukčiji stav od domaćih kroatista o nazivu jezika i da li bi se moglo početi u Hrvatskoj tolerirati njihovo drugačije mišljenje. Navode se argumenti lingvista iz inozemstva koji polaze od striktno lingvističkih procjena zasnovanih na promatranju strukturnih obilježja jezika. Također se navodi njihovo zapažanje da se govornici iz Hrvatske, Srbije, Bosne i Crne Gore međusobno razumiju kad govore standardnim jezikom. Članak poziva domaće kroatiste da se uključe u diskusiju o ovoj temi, a kao što će se vidjeti iz sljedećih brojeva časopisa "Republika" i "Književna republika", tom pozivu su se odazvali brojni kroatisti.

English Abstract: The article discusses the reasons why foreign linguists have a different attitude from native croatists about the name of the language, and whether their opinion could begin to be tolerated in Croatia. The arguments of foreign linguists, based on strict linguistic observations of structural features of the language, are cited. They also noted that speakers from Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Montenegro understand each other when speaking the standard language. The article calls on local croatists to engage in discussion of this topic, and as will be seen from the following issues of the journals "Republika" and "Književna republika", many croatists have responded to this invitation.
