Abstract

This study analyses and contrasts the phonological processes among Bedawie-Arabic loanwords to determine similarities or differences between them and how this contributes to pedagogy. Such studies confirm the universal aspects of languages. Moreover, it will interest those who are involved in teaching or learning languages, as well as textbook writers and syllabus designers in Sudan. The phonology of loanwords in Bedawie-Arabic do not have rigid rules governing them; hence, this investigation aimed to find an answer to this problematic area of research. This study employed the contrastive analytical method whereby data collected from different sources underwent analysis in terms of the phonological processes. The results of the data analysis, in summary, concluded that loanwords have modified the Bedawie-Arabic language. A recommendation for the Ministry of Education and syllabus designers, in Sudan, is that they pay attention to words borrowed from foreign languages to enhance learning other languages.
