Abstract

Usage of tobacco is a significant health problem in India and its influence is very hazardous. The the government takes adequate control measures, and also the consumption of tobacco is also considered as a cultural practice. The present the paper mainly focused on finding the consumption the pattern of smoking and even the effect of variables like psychological and demography on the consumption pattern in Dharmanagar, Tripura. Data for this research paper were collected from 120 respondents through a structured questionnaire as a quantitative method and SPSS software is used for finding the results. Different tests were carried to find out the relation between the consumption pattern of tobacco and psychographic factors. It has been found that the tobacco consumption pattern is affected by the different psychological and demographic variables but from the results, it can be concluded that Emotions are profoundly effecting the consumption of tobacco.
