Abstract

Published online in the Harvard International Law Journal, this short essay is a contribution to the Journal's Tribute to Professor William P. Alford. In the first part, it articulates four enduring challenges to comparative law methods. The second part summarizes the contribution that Professor Alford’s early work makes to facing those challenges. The third part pays a more personal tribute to Professor Alford.
