Is Human Development Index a Shield against COVID-19?

Abstract

In this paper an effort has been made to examine to what extend human development index (HDI) is a shield against COVID-19. Author as an economist will focus only on social and economic factors such as HDI. The findings of the present paper can be helpful if present model is further enhanced by taking into consideration additional factors such as age, other diseases, sex, weight, climate, eating habits and so forth. Author believes that this model triggers further research.
