Abstract

The tenth Digital News Report from the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at the University of Oxford reveals new insights about digital news consumption based on a YouGov survey of over 92,000 online news consumers in 46 media markets including India, Indonesia, Thailand, Nigeria, Colombia and Peru for the first time.

The report looks at the impact of coronavirus on news consumption and on the business models of publishers. It looks at changes in trust, attitudes to impartiality, and explores perceptions of the fairness of news coverage with different groups. The report also tracks the rise of of TikTok and other visual social networks for news.
