Abstract

Detecting Academic research communities in High Energy Physics is of utmost importance as the community portrays huge dynamism and transformation across the timeline. Communities or clusters are group of nodes which possess higher probability of connectedness among themselves. This paper explores the performance of network based community detection algorithms over citation network of High Energy Physics (HEP) research articles covering 12 years, thus revealing interesting validations. The analysis provides deep insights into the need for exploration of se-
mantics present in citation networks.
