Abstract

The economy's increased stability and stronger productivity growth in recent years have intrigued economists and policymakers. Several competing explanations have been put forth. This article focuses on one of these explanations: improved supply chain management. I discuss important changes and emerging trends in management practices and then present some of the evidence that has led analysts to believe that better supply chain management has contributed to the nation's improved macroeconomic performance.
