Abstract

In this special issue we present a series of articles on application of web semantics to problems in eLifeScience  – the digital conduct and communication of research in biology and biomedicine. Life science research presents a number of challenges and opportunities to web semantics and web science. This special issue shows some prime examples of how researchers are tackling the challenge of turning web semantics into working solutions.
