ETHICS OF MOTHERS IN PRISON: In the United States women inmates represent the fastest growing segment of the prison population, while mothers are the largest segment of this population. Mothers in prison result in a disruption of the family relationship with the children of female inmates more likely to become inmates during their lifetime. This paper advocates for a repeal of mandatory sentencing guidelines for non-violent, non-career offenders in favour of a public health approach of community-based rehabilitation to preserve the mother-child relationship.
ETHICS OF INTL' PHARMACEUTICAL RESEARCH: International drug research is often conducted in the developing world where many of the diseases under study are endemic, such as Africa and Asia.
