“  Working with the spirit lady: Using assemblage theory to illustrate the perceived agency of spirits - The Ban Nai Soi Community Learning Center (BNSCLC) is a social enterprise in northern Thailand, which provides language- and vocational skills to disadvantaged youth. Established in 2004, BNSCLC has helped over 1,000 beneficiaries (mostly migrants) and is today a nationally certified high school. The school was established on "cursed" land, but a Karenni rite revealed that the land's spirit would not harm those who used the land for the good of a wider community. Starting from this instance the BNSCLC team has continued consulting the spirit in all management matters and view her as the main contributor to the school’s success. By using this case the paper seeks to examine the role of spiritual worldviews in social entrepreneurship among migrants in northern Thailand using assemblage theory.  ”
