Ideas:
“  I work in law, broadly speaking. I am not a positivist, so I treat as law extending to and including political theory, theory of right, ethics, and other normative systems or discourses of various kinds. I think history is inseparable from law; that law is one of the main substances of history. Since history takes place in between the empirical and the universal, right is a kind of gravity exerted by the universal over events and other ways humans experience. As theory approaches the universal though, it begins to dissipate, become incoherent. It becomes something about consciousness, formlessness. And, as theory approaches the empirical it is destroyed by positivism, the problem of induction, and other puzzles for which there are no solutions that take into account the experiences and qualities of living things. I agree with Aristotle as far as he goes; with the Nagel of Mind and Cosmos; and I dwell often on advaita Vedanta and Buddhist Emptiness.  ”
