Abstract

The effect of different concentrations (0.1, 0.2 and 0.3% v/v) of ethrel on plant morphology, pollen fertility and yield component in Helianthus annuus L. var. MSFH-I7 was studied. All the treatments with ethrel caused reduction in height and delay in flowering. One or two treatments with 0.1% ethrel induced 98.0 and 99.0% pollen sterility and brought about insignificant reduction in yield in comparison to control.
