Abstract

The paper discusses the various forms of IPRs viz. plant breeder's rights, patent rights, trade secretes, geographical indications and trademarks in relation to agriculture, thereby providing an insight into their various facets as relevant to agricultural research and development. During this the relevance of different laws of IPRs were also examined in Indian context. Present paper also searches a perfect system for plant variety protection in Indian scenario that will be more effective and beneficial to breeders and farmers.
