Abstract

This article discusses a section of Canada's Criminal Code that prohibits the sexual exploitation of young persons by adults in positions of trust or authority. It argues that the language employed in the statute is problematically vague and that judicial interpretation has only added to the confusion.

Keywords: sexual exploitation, age of consent

JEL Classification: K14
