Abstract

The past, present and future of banking consolidation is examined with an aim toward modernizing the approach of multi-agency antitrust analysis in the U.S. that is based on the Supreme Court's decision in the matter of United States v. Philadelphia National Bank, 374 U.S. 321 (1963). Reform of outdated merger review methodologies is advocated.
