The deal making & M&A transaction environment in India has metamorphosed significantly in the last five years. Corporate M&A, Private Equity & Venture Capital investments, Mid-market activity - just about the entire transaction spectrum is buzzing. But one exciting transaction type which is noticeably absent is the MBO - Management Buy Out.

So what is different in India? Why aren't managers stepping forward to don the mantle of entrepreneurs and execute their MBOs? Is the quintessential senior executive in India ably positioned to metamorphose from a manager to an entrepreneur - can he or she become the 'Manapreneur'? The answer probably lies in socio-psychological and structural reasons.
