Abstract
Exponential increases in the size of law firms has brought with it exponential increases in the potential for conflicts of interest. Nonconsensual fire walls that screen off a tainted lawyer should be reconsidered as a solution. Regulatory responses to these proposals may make screens dependent on client consent and smaller law firms a better alternative.
