Abstract

This note reviews methodologies used in the estimation of externalities generated in transport. The focus is on freight transport by truck, although the methods selected may be extended to other modes. We revisit measurements of externalities caused by air pollution, noise and accidents, and use of infrastructure, with particular emphasis in their application in the Brazilian context.
