Abstract

The global credit crisis has proved to be the most serious threat to world economy since the great depression. It has similar characteristics to many crises but yet it is inherently different. Liquidity in the global system dried up leading to a chain of payment defaults, bringing the global financial system to its knees. The way forward is still not over regulation but stricter regulation. The market regulators also need to be made accountable.
