Abstract

The purpose of this Appendix is to provide firm theoretical foundations, in the context of a model of two-party political competition where the parties care about which policy is enacted, for the comparative statics predictions presented in Section 2 of Rodríguez and Zambrano (2014) regarding of the effect of changes of the preferred policies of the parties on the policies we can expect to be adopted in equilibrium.
