Abstract

This publication (of 193 pages) represents the proceedings of a roundtable on regulation and competition issues arising in relation to airports and ground-handling services. The roundtable was held at the OECD in June 1997. The proceedings includes submissions from 17 countries describing the regulatory regime for airports and ground-handling services and the competition issues that they have addressed. In addition, the publication includes a summary of the discussion and an executive summary setting out the main points to arise from the roundtable. Issues addressed include competition between airports, incentives for airports to efficiently set take-off and landing charges, vertical relationships between airports and airlines, slot allocation procedures, and regulation of access to airport services.
