Evaluation Questions for assessing POstmerger
integration Consultants
The following questions were organized to assist executives in choosing among postmerger integration consultants when various firms pitch their services to a company planning a significant acquisition.
1. Type of acquisition: Do they recognize the different types of acquisitions and have different integration approaches for each (e.g., a vertical integration acquisition is very different from an industry-consolidating, geography-expanding, or product-line-extending acquisition)? The point is to avoid hiring a firm that employs a one-size-fits-all approach.
