Abstract

This paper examines whether future generations would be made worse off if present generations do not control global warming. It compares present and future welfare per capita, controlling for the costs of climate change, using estimates from the recently released Stern Review on the Economics of Climate Change. The paper finds that, through 2200 at least, future generations will be much better off than present ones even if climate change is not controlled.
