Abstract

This note reviews models used in the estimation of the demand for intercity passenger travel. The focus is on the advantages and disadvantages of applying the models in the Brazilian particular context, taking into account the availability of data, the relevance to public regulators at the state and federal levels, and the differences between short and long distance markets.
