Abstract
Climate change is an all encompassing threat to human health, to global food supply, and to peace and security. However, the risks of climate change to social systems are as much about the characteristics of those systems as it is about changes in environmental systems. The extent to which global warming constitutes a threat to human security is determined by the affected society’s level of vulnerability.
