Abstract
The aim of this paper is to study the roll played by arbitrators nowadays in the framework of international commercial arbitration and, more precisely, to establish whether impartiality and independence, compulsory principles in the conduct of any judge are applicable in the same way to arbitrators, especially for those appointed by the parties.
