Abstract

This article discusses the problem of overlapping regimes which could be caused by the proposed EU dircetive on supply chain security. There is already in place provision in EU law for the status of Authorised Economic Operators for "low risk" participants in the movement of goods. The proposed directive muddies the waters by its lack of clear remit and scope of application.

Keywords: EU trade, supply chain, security customs law, transport, movement of goods
