Abstract

This short article has a direct objective of comparing Buddhism and Islam with some references to how the similarities and differences may influence the lives of their adherers, from a comparative religious perspective. A secondary objective is to find common grounds for a possible dialogue between these two influential world religions. It is important for religions to dialogue with genuine understanding of each other. It is found that Buddhism and Islam are fundamentally different but they are not opposing each other. There are some interesting common grounds for a fruitful dialogue. This is an important finding as there will not be peace without religious peace.
