Abstract

This project aims to increase safety and improve the quality of life for victims; increase coordination and consistency of response to domestic violence; and reduce new incidents of domestic abuse by known offenders. It involves the coordinated intervention of law enforcement, the criminal justice system and human services in cases of domestic assault to promote a comprehensive community response. The program is also known as the Duluth model, after the Minnesota USA city in which it was developed.
