Abstract

This paper reports the results, relating to offenders birthplace, of a study into homicide between adult sexual intimates. The results show a disproportionately high number of offenders are born overseas and that cases are often preceded by a history of physical and emotional violence. Easteal discusses two theories as to why the rates are so high, using overseas and Australian literature on domestic violence.

Keywords: homicide, sexual intimates
