Abstract
Self reported or self rated health is a situation of determining ones health status. Studies relating to it are scare in Africa. The present study examined its prevalence and its relationship with actual experience of morbidity. The study found that self rated health status is not common in Africa. It is also found that there is a relationship between self rated health status and actual experience of morbidity. It is recommended that the study should be encouraged and should be compared with clinical testing to find a policy framework.
