Abstract

This paper aims to describe the links between the transformation of business models based on network effects and multisided markets, and the strategies adopted by the ventures in the context of the digital economy. We refer those links to the ability of the entrepreneur (or the firm as a whole) described by the concept of “entrepreneurial bricolage”.

To illustrate this description, we present a case study, Cityvox, extracted from an ongoing longitudinal project research we are developing on a panel of innovative start-ups based in France.

Keywords: Business model, strategy, multisided market, network effects, digital economy, entrepreneurial bricolage
