Abstract
Using an eight-year panel of 1,309 households from Uganda, the study investigates the extent to which household dynamics influence chronic poverty. The study argues that changes in household welfare might result either in a demographic event or in an income/economic event or both. The findings seem to suggest that these changes yield mixed results on the likelihood of a household living in chronic poverty.
