Abstract

Intelligence is the capability of any system to act appropriately in an uncertain environment and produce a successful behavior. The paper presents an emerging paradigm known as software agent that act intelligently under bounded resources where an act is deemed appropriate if it increases the probability of success. The paper discusses the fruition of Agent Oriented Software Systems from conventional object oriented systems by providing an Agent' s Framework. Also, it explores the significant roles played by various agents interacting in a multiagent framework and a broad classification has been presented. Authors argue that software agents can be easily used to build smarter, faster, cheaper and in fact intelligent software systems.
