Abstract

This paper discusses the emergence and development of the Andean Community, describes the Andean Integration System, and focuses on the Andean regulatory framework dealing with the protection of the environment. The Common Regime for Access to Genetic Resources, the Common Agricultural Regime, and Andean harmonizations trends are explained. The paper also discusses the Treaty for Amazonian Cooperation.
