Abstract

April 2010 marks the date when the liner shipping consortia block exemption (Commission Regulation 823/2000) will expire. It will be replaced by a revised block exemption, Commission Regulation 906/2009.The newblock exemptionwill come into force on 26 April 2010; similar to the current block exemption, itwill apply to international liner shipping services for the carriage of cargo.This short piece higlights some of the key provisions of the new law.
