Abstract
This case describes the scandal surrounding the National Kidney Foundation (NKF), one of the largest charities in Singapore, in which then CEO Mr. T.T. Durai lavishly spent donor funds meant for kidney patients on building his own personal corporate empire. The case illustrates the potential dangers of entrusting a CEO with too much power and the important role and duty of boards in upholding proper standards of corporate governance.
