Abstract
On July 31, 2009 the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) sent Apple, Google and AT&T letters of inquiry relating to a recent incident that could have antitrust implications. The FCC is particularly concerned with ensuring that companies in the telecommunications industry operate in a fair manner. As cell phones and mobile devices become more complex, the FCC plays an increasingly important role to advocate against any unfair practices on behalf of consumers. The outcome of this ongoing inquiry will affect every mobile device and smart phone user.
