Abstract

During the past decade or so there had been a mushrooming growth in the number of private-sector institutions offering MBA or MBA-type programmes. In India, for example, close to some 1500 institutions are offering MBA or MBA-type programmes. Majority of these institutions belong to the private sector, and are approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India. This growth in number has brought with it a host of challenges before all institutions offering MBA (or MBA-type) programmes.
