Abstract

This paper presents an unexplored method of mediation analysis, sequential mediation analysis. Sequential mediation is promoted as an important tool in experiments designed to examine domino-effects in political behavior, as one treatment triggers a chain of reaction. I discuss how sequential mediation is a proper test of the theoretical assumptions of affect-driven dual process models and associative model of processing.

Keywords: mediation, sequential mediation, tests of domino effects, affective priming
