Dubai Crisis

Abstract

This article explains the impacts of Dubai Crisis (DC) on the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the wider Gulf region and at international level. It also extensively examines the differences and similarities between Dubai Crisis and the Global Financial Crisis (GFC). This examination includes studying the impact of the safety net and other issues that could help Dubai to survive this crisis. Causes & impacts behind Dubai Crisis, especially sub-prime lending, are further investigated in the context of Global Financial Crisis, i.e., Global Financial Crisis impacts in the stock market, GDP, the credit ratings in Dubai companies and the bankruptcy banks.
