This paper is an attempt to reinforce the need for aligning Inputs, training with objectives vis-a-vis the processes.
The exemplar of rifle shooting forms the basis of illustrating fulfilling quality requirements. The choice of example makes the due impact while it makes an interesting reading.
Aim and Fire, is a set process to exploit the power. If that is the strategy, with a judicious Quality interface along with it one is sure to achieve the win the desired objectives. For an objective to be won, one needs to hone up all the actions. Right from strategy, process capability, resources and Quality management, every activity must be systemically controlled. This work illustrates the paradigm as a rifle shooting case study where the actors are two individuals/soldiers. It is based on the paradigm that to achieve one's objective meticulously one needs considerable accuracy not only as a vector, but also in terms of the infrastructure. Excessive inputs give more elevation to the bullet which tends to go like a bouncer above the target.
Failing the focus the projects gathers no return. How extrapolating the case of shooting is vital for integration Quality improvement in common practice is illustrated. The case is evaluated using a model for Redefining the 'Quality' Role of a Quality Professional.
