Abstract
This paper analyses the use of Services of General Economic Interest to which general access under equal conditions has been recognised as key for social and territorial cohesion by European policy-makers. In order to do so, citizens' preferences with respect to these services are analysed according to their place of residence. Results show patterns of use by region, and detects some low levels of use of some of the services in areas where there is lower population density, related to problems of access. These results have important implications for future regulation of these services.
