Abstract

Prince of Peace Orphans and Widows Vision (POPOW) has been supporting initiatives that respond to the needs of vulnerable children for the last 4 years by supporting initiatives that link livelihoods to child protection and well being. Three such initiatives are education, economic development and health (Care and Protection) of Children affected by crisis and armed conflict. The activities are centered on working with individuals and groups to strengthen social responsibilities, social capital value and safety nets for this vulnerable category through capacity building and psychosocial support.

This has been possible by recognizing the need to explore livelihoods interventions and economic strengthening activities that pertain to child protection and well-being in crisis and conflict setting as a measure to mitigate the risk factors on the development of youth and vulnerable children.
