La Política y El Conocimiento Científico (Policy and Scientific Knowledge) (in Spanish)

Abstract

El presente artículo analiza el alcance que, desde la perspectiva de Max weBer, se otorga a la labor de científico en la actividad política. En la primera parte se analiza la naturaleza de la labor del político, las cualidades que éste debe poseer, así como la ética propia de esta actividad. En la segunda, se desarrollan los aspectos íntimos de la vocación del científico, así como el sentido del trabajo científico. En la tercera se analizan los vínculos entre ciencia y política, así como los límites que, desde esta perspectiva, se imponen al hombre de ciencia que desee participar en la política. Para desarrollar estos temas se procede a realizar un análisis inmanente de la propuesta de Max Weber sobre la actividad política y la actividad científica, así como sobre la labor del hombre de acción y del hombre de ciencia. A partir de allí se identifica el papel que la ciencia debe cumplir en relación con la política y el alcance de la labor del científico en la política.

This article examines the extent to which, from the perspective of Max Weber, is given to the scientific work in the political activity. The first part discusses the nature of the work of the politician, the qualities it must possess, and the ethical effects of this activity. The second, develops the intimate aspects of the vocation of the scientist, as well as the meaning of scientific work. The third section discusses the links between science and policy, and limits which, from this perspective, imposing man of science who wants to participate in politics. To develop these themes, an immanent analysis of the proposed Max Weber is made. In particular, the article discusses the political and scientific activity, as well as the work of the man of action and the men of science. From there, the article identifies the role that science should play in relation to politics, and the scope of the work of the scientist in politics.
