Abstract

This paper is concerned with the contribution of a physical environment to the use of simulation methods, with specific reference to the business war-room. We review the nature of war-rooms in both business and non-business contexts, examining firstly a number of specific case studies. The design (or lack of design) of the physical locales for simulation can impact on the overall simulation experiences, both in corporate and educational contexts. We conclude with the illustration of how learning spaces might evolve to support explicitly a diverse range of simulations.
