Abstract

Nowadays Islamic finance is experiencing rapid growth. In this paper author summarizes the research that has been conducted in the study of Islamic finance up to now. 170 scientific studies by authors and academics from different countries, various universities and international organizations were reviewed for this purpose. Additionally, curricula offered by different universities in this field were given a specific attention. In its analysis, it was concluded that most research in the field of Islamic finance has been done in the United States of America. Great interest in studying this topic is also evident in the Muslim countries where Islamic financial institutions have existed for over 30 years as well as by major international organizations. However, despite a lower number of publications, the work by the authors from the UK seems to be more widespread and well-known. Qualified specialists in this field are produced not only in Muslim countries but throughout the world. The most expensive education for future Master’s/MBA candidates is offered at universities in the UK, and Muslims in this country have better chances in studying in these programs.
