Abstract

The paper critically analyses Mark Granovetter's popular concept of embeddedness. It is shown that this notion is based on a simplistic, overly narrow view of social relations and social structures. An alternative view overcoming those weaknesses is put forward.

Keywords: embeddedness, social structure, economic structure, social relations
